Faculty of Foreign Languages Honours Students Winning Prizes at the “Student Scientific Research” Contest, Academic Year 2025–2026
On the morning of May 16, 2026, student research groups from the Faculty of Foreign Languages, Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry and Trade, participated in the Final Round of the “Student Scientific Research” Contest for the academic year 2025–2026. The students achieved several outstanding results in the field of Social Sciences, including one Second Prize, one Third Prize, and two Consolation Prizes.
Specifically, the research project entitled “English majors’ perceptions of ethics and information verification in AI-assisted academic writing at tertiary level” excellently won Second Prize. The project was conducted by Nguyễn Trần Mai Quyên, Nguyễn Thị Thanh Bình, Hồ Thị Mỹ Kim, Nguyễn Thị Anh Thư, and Lưu Thị Minh Tâm under the supervision of M.A. Bùi Thị Hoà.
The project entitled “The influence of form, sound, and meaning on the memorisation of Chinese characters among first-year Chinese Language students at Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry and Trade” won Third Prize. The project was carried out by Võ Hoàng Hải Đăng under the supervision of Dr. Võ Thị Quỳnh Trang.
In addition, the research project entitled “An analysis of common errors in learning Business Translation among K14 Chinese Language students at Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry and Trade” received a Consolation Prize. The project was conducted by Phạm Thanh Yến, Dương Thị Diệu, and Đồng Thị Thu Hiền under the supervision of Dr. Nguyễn Thụy Mai Hân.
Another project, entitled “The use of short stories to improve English essay writing among freshman English majors at Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry and Trade,” also received a Consolation Prize. The project was carried out by Nguyễn Hà Huy Thắng under the supervision of Dr. Đinh Văn Sơn.
The achievements gained in this year’s contest reflect the students’ serious learning attitude, research spirit, creativity, and passion for scientific inquiry. At the same time, the professional comments and feedback from the Scientific Committee provided valuable opportunities for the student groups to further improve their academic work. The contest also enabled both lecturers and students to gain meaningful experience in scientific research activities.
The Faculty of Foreign Languages warmly congratulates all student groups and their supervisors on these remarkable achievements. These results will serve as a strong motivation for students to continue developing their research spirit, creativity, and academic competence in the future.
