ADMISSION ANNOUNCEMENT: MASTER'S DEGREE (INTAKE 1 - 2025)

Pursuant to Circular No. 23/2021/TT-BGDĐT dated August 30, 2021, issued by the Ministry of Education and Training on the Promulgation of the Regulations on Admission and Training for Master's Degrees;

Pursuant to Decision No. 1279/QĐ-DCT dated April 26, 2024, issued by the Rector of Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry and Trade on the Promulgation of the Regulations on Post-Graduate Training;

Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry and Trade (HUIT) hereby announces the Master's degree admission for the first intake of 2025 as follows:

2. Training Format and Duration

  • Format: Full-time.
  • Duration: 1.5 years (3 semesters).
  • Location: HUIT campuses in Ho Chi Minh City.

3. Admission Eligibility:

  • Vietnamese citizens.
  • Foreign citizens.

4. Admission Method: Admission is conducted through a screening process based on the following criteria:

  • Candidates belonging to the priority categories as specified in Section 6.1 of this announcement.
  • Preference is given to candidates with higher undergraduate Cumulative Grade Point Averages (GPA), ranked from highest to lowest until the enrollment quota is met.
  • In cases where multiple candidates have identical GPAs exceeding the remaining quota, priority will be given based on years of work experience in a field related to the major (verified by labor contracts, social insurance records, or employer certification). The candidate with more seniority will be selected.
  • If seniority is also equal, priority will be given to female candidates in accordance with Clause 4, Article 16 of Decree No. 48/2009/NĐ-CP dated May 19, 2009, regarding measures to ensure gender equality.

5. Admission Conditions

5.1. For Vietnamese Candidates:

a) Academic Qualifications: Candidates must meet one of the following conditions:

  • Hold a bachelor's degree or meet the requirements for graduation recognition (or equivalent level or higher) in a major suitable for the Master's program applied for at the University (specific regulations are provided in Appendix 1 attached to this Announcement).
  • For research-oriented programs, candidates are required to have a graduation classification of "Good" (Khá) or higher, or have scientific publications related to the field of study and research.
  • Hold a bachelor's degree or meet the requirements for graduation recognition (or equivalent level or higher) in a major not yet suitable for the applied Master's program, provided they have completed supplementary knowledge courses prior to application in accordance with the University's Master's admission and training regulations (specific regulations are provided in Appendix 1 attached to this Announcement).
  • Meet other requirements of the training program standards promulgated by the Ministry of Education and Training (MOET) and according to the University's specific training program regulations.

b) Foreign Language Proficiency: Candidates must meet one of the following requirements:

  • Hold a Bachelor’s degree or higher in a foreign language major; or a Bachelor’s degree or higher from a program conducted primarily in a foreign language.
  • Possess a degree or certificate in a foreign language equivalent to Level 3 or higher according to the 6-level Foreign Language Proficiency Framework for Vietnam, or other equivalent certificates announced by the Ministry of Education and Training, which must remain valid until the date of application registration (refer to Appendix 2). Upon receipt of the degree or certificate, Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry and Trade will conduct a verification process to ensure authenticity.
  • Candidates who do not have evidence of foreign language proficiency as per the above conditions must participate in a Level 3/6 foreign language proficiency assessment organized by Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry and Trade prior to the admission screening.

c) Other Conditions: Candidates must:

  • Have a clear personal background and commit to not being under criminal investigation.
  • Commit to fulfilling financial obligations for the training process in accordance with University regulations.
  • Submit a complete application dossier on time as regulated by the University.
  • For candidates entitled to priority policies, a complete set of documents as specified in Section 6.1 of this Announcement is required.

5.2. For Foreign Candidates:

  • Foreign candidates must satisfy the same requirements as Vietnamese candidates specified in Section 5.1 above.
  • Foreign candidates enrolling in Master's programs taught in Vietnamese must achieve Level 4 or higher according to the Vietnamese Language Proficiency Framework, as regulated in Circular No. 17/2015/TT-BGDĐT dated September 1, 2015, issued by the Ministry of Education and Training.
  • The determination of majors for foreign candidates will be based on a comparison of courses with identical or equivalent names to identify the appropriate major or required conversion courses.

6. Priority Categories and Policies

6.1. Priority Categories

  • a) Individuals with at least 2 years of continuous work experience (as of the application deadline) in localities designated as Area 1 (Khu vực 1) according to current full-time university and college admission regulations. In this case, candidates must provide a decision of employment, mobilization, or secondment issued by a competent authority.
  • b) War invalids or those entitled to policies similar to war invalids.
  • c) Children of martyrs.
  • d) Heroes of the Armed Forces or Labor Heroes.
  • e) Ethnic minorities with permanent residence for 2 years or more in localities designated as Area 1 (Khu vực 1) according to current full-time university and college admission regulations.
  • f) Biological children of resistance activists exposed to toxic chemicals, who have been recognized by the Provincial People's Committee as having deformities, disabilities, or reduced self-reliance in daily life and study as a result of such chemicals.

Required Documentation for Priority Status

  • Notarized copies of war invalid/sick soldier cards or relevant documents (for categories specified in points b, c, e, and f of Section 6.1).
  • Notarized copies of ID card/Citizen ID, household registration, and residency certification from the local Ward/Commune People's Committee (for the category specified in point d of Section 6.1).
  • Notarized labor contracts, employment or mobilization decisions from competent authorities, and certification from the Ward/Commune People's Committee confirming that the employer is located within a prioritized area (for the category specified in point a of Section 6.1).

6.2. Priority Levels:

Candidates belonging to the priority categories will be given preference in the admission screening process according to the order of priority as specified in Section 4 of this announcement.

7. Application Dossier, Registration Procedure, and Deadlines

7.1. The admission dossier includes:

  • Application Form for Master’s Admission: (Standardized form).
  • Curriculum Vitae: Certified by local authorities or the candidate's current employer (Standardized form).
  • Health Certificate: Issued by a competent medical facility within the last 6 months.
  • ID Card/Citizen ID: 01 notarized copy.
  • Bachelor’s Degree and Academic Transcript: 01 notarized copy of each. (Note: Candidates who completed a bridge program/top-up degree must also submit the diploma and transcript of their previous Associate or Intermediate levels).
  • Foreign Language Degree/Certificate: 01 notarized copy.
  • Certificate of Work Experience: 01 copy issued by the employer (if applicable).
  • Certificate and Transcript of Supplementary Courses: 01 copy (if applicable).

Note for Foreign Degrees: In cases where the Bachelor’s degree and academic transcripts were issued by foreign educational institutions, they must be translated into Vietnamese, notarized, and accompanied by a Certificate of Recognition issued by the Vietnam National Center for Degree Recognition (VN-NARIC). 7.2. Registration Procedure:

8. Admission Fees and Tuition

8.1. Admission Fee

  • Admission Fee: 2,000,000 VND per candidate.
  • Payment Methods: Direct payment or bank transfer.
    • Direct Payment: At the Department of Planning and Finance (Building C), Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry and Trade.
    • Bank Transfer :

8.2. Tuition Fees and Academic Incentives for Alumni

  • Tuition Fee: 1,000,000 VND per credit; the entire program consists of 60 credits.
  • Alumni Discount Policy: Candidates who are HUIT alumni are eligible for the following tuition fee reductions:
    • Graduates with "Excellent" or "Very Good" (Giỏi, Xuất sắc) rank: 20% tuition discount per semester.
    • Graduates with "Good" (Khá) rank: 10% tuition discount per semester.
    • Graduates with other ranks: 5% tuition discount per semester.
