The training program is designed with the objective of undergoing external evaluation at the program level, in accordance with the Educational Quality Standards promulgated by the Minister of Education and Training (MOET), since 2019.
1. Educational Objectives
1.1. General Objectives
The Chinese Linguistics program provides students with an educational environment and activities to form and develop personality, ethics, knowledge, and essential skills for success in professional fields related to Chinese Linguistics, meeting social needs and international integration.
1.2. Specific Objectives
Graduates possess knowledge, skills, personal qualities, interpersonal skills, and professional competencies.
a. Knowledge
Apply knowledge of social sciences and natural sciences, particularly specialized knowledge in Chinese Language Studies, to professional work and advanced learning.
b. Personal Skills and Attributes
Develop essential skills through linguistic and business knowledge to solve problems and adapt to changes in the workplace.
Demonstrate personal qualities, ethics, and professional responsibility (honesty, integrity, and discipline) across various professional contexts.
c. Interpersonal Skills
Independently plan work, coordinate, manage, supervise, and evaluate resources to achieve defined objectives in multicultural and international working environments.
d. Professional Competencies
Accurately apply acquired knowledge and skills to management, goal setting, and task planning in order to achieve objectives in study, research, and professional work related to Chinese language fields.
2. Training Duration
Designed training duration: 3.5 years.
Maximum completion time: Includes the designed training duration and the permitted extension period as specified in the Regulations on Undergraduate Training under the Credit System (Issued under Decision No. 3020/QD-DCT dated October 19, 2023, by the President of Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry and Trade).
3. Degree Awarded
A Bachelor’s degree shall be conferred upon students who have completed the undergraduate program, fulfilled the required credit accumulation, and satisfied all graduation requirements in accordance with the University’s credit-based academic regulations.
4. Entry Requirements
Applicants holding a high school diploma or equivalent must meet the University’s admission criteria or pass the entrance examination as required.
Applicants holding a college (associate) degree in the same or a related field:
Their prior learning outcomes and accumulated knowledge and skills may be recognized for credit transfer and course exemptions in this program.
Students currently enrolled in another undergraduate program at the University who meet the requirements of the University’s credit-based academic regulations:
Previously completed courses in the first program may be recognized for credit transfer and considered for exemption when pursuing a second major under this program.
Applicants holding a first bachelor’s degree in another field:
Their prior learning outcomes and accumulated knowledge and skills may be recognized for credit transfer and course exemptions when pursuing a second bachelor’s degree under this program.
5. Assessment Methods
In accordance with the Regulations on Undergraduate Training under the Credit System (issued under Decision No. 3020/QĐ-DCT dated October 19, 2023, by the President of Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry and Trade), and the Regulations on Examinations, Testing, and Assessment of Learning Outcomes (issued under Decision No. 2402/QĐ-DCT dated August 22, 2023, by the President of Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry and Trade).
6. Academic Regulations and Graduation Requirements
Graduation consideration and recognition: In accordance with the Regulations on Undergraduate Training under the Credit System (issued under Decision No. 3020/QĐ-DCT dated October 19, 2023, by the President of Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry and Trade).
Foreign language proficiency requirement: In accordance with the Regulations on Foreign Language Output Standards (issued under Decision No. 1281/QĐ-DCT dated April 26, 2024, by the President of Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry and Trade).
Information technology requirement: In accordance with the Regulations on IT Skills Standards (issued under Decision No. 3297/QĐ-DCT dated November 7, 2023, by the President of Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry and Trade).

10. Quality Assurance and Control
Relevant units are responsible for developing and implementing quality assurance and quality control plans in accordance with the approved program curriculum and the current teaching regulations.
11. Implementation Guidelines
11.1. For Faculties and Departments
- Be responsible for ensuring the proper implementation of the program content and for advising and guiding students in course registration.
- Assign lecturers in charge of each course and provide course syllabi to lecturers for the preparation and implementation of teaching plans.
- Ensure the availability of textbooks, reference materials, and adequate facilities to support effective implementation of the training program.
- Pay attention to the logical sequencing of knowledge delivery and acquisition, specify prerequisite courses, premiminary courses, and prepare qualified lecturers to meet teaching requirements for elective courses.
- Monitor and supervise lecturers’ teaching activities in accordance with the current regulations on teaching, and ensure continuous innovation in teaching methods as well as assessment and evaluation practices.
11.2. For lecturers
- Lecturers must carefully study the course syllabus in order to prepare lesson content, select appropriate teaching methods, and use suitable teaching aids.
- Lecturers are required to prepare sufficient textbooks and learning materials and provide them to students to facilitate pre-class preparation.
- Employ a variety of teaching and learning methods in accordance with the educational philosophy of “active learning and creative practice”, and strictly implement the assessment and evaluation methods specified in the course syllabus.
- Reflect on their own teaching activities and actively participate in innovation in teaching methods in compliance with the current regulations on teaching.
11.3. For Students
- Consult academic advisors or lecturers to select courses appropriate to their individual study progress.
- Ensure full attendance in class or participation in practical sessions in accordance with established regulations.
- Promote learner autonomy, self-study, and independent research, while actively engaging in group learning activities and fully participating in discussions, seminars, and practical sessions.
- Actively utilize online resources and the university library to support self-study, research activities, and the completion of graduation theses.
- Strictly comply with examination, assessment, and evaluation regulations.
